Terms of Service

Bench the Bot is operated by Alexander Stewart, trading as Bench the Bot, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms govern your use of the Bench the Bot website and service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Bench the Bot is

Bench the Bot is a data-driven Fantasy Premier League (FPL) transfer and strategy advisor. It runs a real, publicly logged AI-managed FPL team alongside statistical projections, comparisons and season analytics for users' own teams.

Bench the Bot is a research and decision-support tool, not an autopilot. It surfaces model-driven projections and suggestions to help inform your own FPL decisions — it does not manage your FPL team on your behalf, and using it does not guarantee any particular rank, score, or outcome in the Fantasy Premier League game.

2. Free tier and Tier 1 Pro

The core Service — the public AI team tracker, its accuracy log, free player rankings and fixture outlook — is free to use and does not require an account.

Tier 1 Pro (currently £2.99/month) is a paid subscription unlocking additional analytics tools: Player Comparison, Season Projections, Team Shape and Team Trends. Pro features require a signed-in account. Pricing may change from time to time; we'll make any change clear before it applies to your next billing period.

3. Payments and Paddle

Paid subscriptions are sold through Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our authorised reseller. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for these transactions: Paddle appears as the seller on your payment statement, handles payment collection, applicable sales tax/VAT, and is your point of contact for billing and payment-method issues. Bench the Bot is the provider of the underlying Service you're subscribing to.

4. Accounts

Creating an account requires an email address (used for passwordless sign-in via a one-time link). You may optionally link your FPL Team ID to your account to enable personalised features as they become available. You're responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since that's how you sign in.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape, systematically extract, or republish the Service's data at scale; attempt to circumvent Tier 1 Pro access controls; interfere with or overload the Service's infrastructure; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

6. No guarantee of results

All predictions, projections, rankings and recommendations on Bench the Bot are model-generated estimates for informational purposes only. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, are not financial or betting advice, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for any decision. You make your own FPL transfer, captaincy and squad decisions, and you're responsible for them.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bench the Bot is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of FPL rank, mini-league standing, or any winnings or prizes connected to your FPL performance. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or £25, whichever is greater, for users on the free tier). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel your Tier 1 Pro subscription at any time from your account page or via Paddle. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for. See our Refund Policy for more detail.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as the Service or its pricing changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
